BJ Process and Pipeline Services
have contracted Airpac to provide equipment and personnel for
the dewatering and drying of
pipelines in the Bonga Field in Nigeria. The work will commence
in early 2004.
Working as an integral part of the BJ Services project team,
Airpac will supply booster compressors, associated ancillaries
and operational staff onboard the Bonga FPSO for the dewatering
of the gas export line running from the FPSO to the mainland.
The Bonga Field development is estimated to cost some US$2.7
billion. The field which is located 120km south-west of the Niger
Delta in water more than 1000m deep, is the first deepwater project
for Shell Nigeria and Nigeria as a country. Gas from the Bonga
will be piped to the LNG plant at Bonny.
